why isn’t american football as popular as baseball in Japan?
there are huge people in japan like sumo wrestlers, there are fast players like Ichiro, so why didn’t footbal become popular in japan? What aspects of the game of football make it so it can’t be popular there?
im not talking about japanese playing in japan, i mean why dont they make their own leagues in japan and play amongst themselves?
Because, their body frames wouldn’t likely hold up against our athletes… their just too small for the most part… the ONLY Japanese player I know of isn’t really on a team, he’s a practice squad player for the Falcons… Noriaki Kinoshita. He’s a Return specialist… but he’s only like 5’9" and 170 lbs.
However, we could probably get some MASSIVE offensive linemen from Japan… that’s about it though…
As far as them making their own leagues, there would have to be some interest generated to get it started, but even if it was, which I highly doubt, it would probably be what the MLS is here in America… a relatively ignored sport that NEVER really sells out and gets little to no respect…
The only sport I know of that is really a WORLD sport is BASEBALL… everyone in the world plays baseball…
Because Japanese people don’t get to play it.
Football requires you to be big and strong, which most Japanese people aren’t.
EDIT: Um, yeah, that’s pretty much what I said. Idiot…
the same reason we don’t give a damn about soccer or cricket. the rest of the world cares, we just don’t
thay do not play as much there as they do here and viseversa
it just isnt they do have football in japan but they just dont like it that much just like americans dont really care about soccer or tennis
It takes more to than being huge to be a football player, particularly at either line. The line is about quickness with your strength. Also, it just isn’t popular. Why isn’t soccer very popular in America? It just doesn’t interest us. Better yet, what about cricket? The people aren’t as interested in it.
